ECS Card

Hi All,

I have the following qualifications:
17th Edition, Part P, PAT and have passed the ECS Health and Safety Assessment.
I have never worked as or have been paid for working as any kind of electrician, but my plan is to get work as either an electricians mate or labourer on construction sites.

I am just about to fill in the application to send off for my ECS card and from what i read i only need to fill in Sections 1-3 and sign the declaration on section 13.

No where on the form do i need to enter my qualifications.

How do they decide from such little information what card to give me? I believe that i should get a labourers card...is this true?

i have C and G 236 parts 1 and 2 and they are not shown on my card only 17th and 2391 and "industry assesed"

I'm same as mechelec. Its just how they assess things.

They might give you the Lion Tamer or the Sword Swallower. This depends on the amount of hoops you are prepared to jump through. They both pay the same though

Hi, I have part p with Elecsa, 2391, 17th edition etc and have been working as a civilian electrician for over 20 years on smaller sites. I have just applied for an ecs card giving all that information and they sent me a marine electricians ecs card based on my royal navy apprentiship over 29 years ago! Does that mean I can work on large sites now or ships?
