EIC completion on consumer unit upgrade

Just want to pick your brains.

When your completing the EIC on a consumer unit upgrade,what do you guys put on these parts of the schedule of inspections.

Section 8.3, 8.7.

My accessor said I should put “LIM”, but you can’t put “LIM” on a EIC! Obviously for section 8.7 you can’t possibly check ALL the cabling under floors, above ceilings or in walls etc.

N/A for cable routes supported through out and for cables In prescribed safe zones, after all we can’t verify what we can’t see and it’s not applicable to just a consumer unit change unless you have installed any cables as part of the extent of works covered by the certificate

The EIC covers only the work you have conducted.
If you want to inspect or test any of the existing installation, you should use an EICR form.

I was always told to put N/V, not verified. It doesn't seem right to put N/A as it is applicable to the installation usually

I think NV or NA is fine and as Spin says, you are only responsible for what you are doing.

What software (if applicable) are you using. Found that normally restricts what you can select?

I using iCertifi which only allows you to put N/A or a .

I'm guessing all my N/V's get changed to N/A's when the cert gets put onto system back at office then

You’re only certificating the new CU, so NA on what you cannot verify seems the most appropriate thing to put. Just put in what you actually know

It's not applicable to the work you have carried out, so N/A is the correct entry.

Good point with the N/a Because to put NV as I suggested earlier would mean you had tried to verify it when in fact you didn't because you shouldn't because it not relevant to what you've done.

Yeah I see what you mean. I will stop doing that as it is a bit confusing now I see it from the other side.
