Hi guys, was just wondering if anyone could tell me what this actually means:

7.6 Cable entry holes in ceiling above luminaires, sized or sealed so as to restrict the spread of fire. List number and location of luminaires inspected. (Separate page)

Is it only relevant to designated fire walls or ceilings in flat's etc. or is there something I've been missing the past 10 years regarding cable entry holes?

thanks in advance!

It is somewhere in part 5 of BGB in the bit about spread of fire. In amongst all the garb in pt5 there is a reg that gives the maximum sized hole/penetration that does not need sealing, off the top of my head 32mm springs to mind, but don't quote me on it, and it is also difficult to find. i wouldn't lose any sleep over it, once the fitting or rose is up, it will cover the hole anyway.

Cheers............Howard.
