Sometimes maybe be better on the surface of a flower bed so that any one with a spade would notice it before then decide to plant a tree and dig two foot down

People tend not to stick knives and forks into cables laid across carpets, so I'm pretty sure people wouldn't normally stick a spade into a cable on the surface of a garden.

Maybe all flexes should be buried beyond the depth of an average knife and fork.

Yes make the cable noticeable

Paint it with some fluorescent paint - but not yellow or orange (ochre) or people will think it's a gas pipe. Don't use blue cos that's the colour for water pipes. Green I think is for telecoms so you can't use that either, so that just leaves black. Fluorescent black .. that's what you need!!

Write on it every 5 inches with types
This is an armoured cable do not put any garden implements into me please be very careful
And go back once a year to rewrite every thing

Yeah, but I did have a customer put a fork through SWA laid on the surface in a flower bed, well his gardener did!

Both Classic movies though Dave, but I would say Deliverance just pips it for me.
