EICR when not in a scheme.

Hi guys
Just wondering about doing testing when not in a scheme.
So I'm fully qualified and also have my 2391-52 and have turned down quite a few side jobs of condition reports. However a few people have now said to me I can do them and use generic test forms and pass these on?? Is this correct?

Yes, awkward thing comes if its domestic and they want you to rectify an un satisfactory report you have done and you cant if it had notifiable work in it

As far as I'm aware no you don't have to be in a scham to do EICR.s just competent. So Crack on good fellow!!

Providing you're competent, there's nothing stopping you. The people telling you you can do them are quite correct and you can buy generic forms for this purpose.

Your skilled competent, and have relevant qualitifications. The only thing that can cause problems is some agents request your a member of a CPS and it can be a PITA convincing these people.

Domestic, is a bloody joke these days, came out of it 15 years ago.
So heavily regulated now with yokes , with no experience let loose.

You need insurance anyway, not only if you are doing EICR, it's part of any business

Unless you are 100 percent confindent you are never going to make a mistake, and no fault is ever going to arise on an instalation you have tested, you will need to be able to prove that you were competent to carry out the tests.

Also, insurers would be unlikely to cover you for professional indemnity, unless you could prove to them that you were competent.
