Hi. I was wandering if anybody could advise me on whether or not EICR's need to be registered once completed or if (as I've been told) as they are only a report, you just give a copy to whoever is ordering the work aswell as keeping your own copy.
i have my 2391 & regularly did periodics for a company I worked for (they were on the Niceic approved scheme) but after handing the report back to the office, that would be the end of my involvement. I've now gone self employed & although I still do a lot of commercial subbying for another company, the majority of my own work is domestic & because of this I've just got on the Niceic domestic installers scheme. My question is : if I need to carry out an EICR, can I carry one out on the generic green Certs (obviously any resulting work would be certified on my domestic installer Certs, or do the EICR's have to be registered with building control (or some other body)
thanks in advance.

You just give them the report pal. You can do eicrs on green certs but as i found alot of people (insurance companies) ask for the electrician to have niceic certs which means yourll need to do the eicr part for niceic or become an approved contractor like i had to do matey
