Hi,

Can someone help me please, I just moved to London from Ireland and I unsure as to how my qualifications transfer over here. I see alot of jobs require 16th 17th edition ? I completed my apprenticship in Ireland in 2008. Any info would be greatly appreciated

if you have your apprenticeship how about taking the regs course. welcome to the forum. if you are wanting to work on site you may need the ecs test

As Phil said I doubt if any of your qualifications will count here your experience will so take the city and guilds 2382 17th edition and then a short and easy test on health and safety for your ECS card. That will get you work in most places but not all.

Good luck in your search.

what do you have at the moment mate? not sure what quals you have in ireland. 16th was replaced by the 17th in 2008. best thing would be to pop into a local tech college and ask them how much the 17th course would be mate,

i believe that there is a body called NARIC who can help you to transfer your qualifications over. Ive worked with a few irish sparks on a power station. Most commercial and industrial jobs are probaly exactly the same as in ireland. Ive worked over there for 4 months and it was all the same.
