Electric combi boiler

Hi, my wife and I have decided to bite the bullet re the costs of an electric combi boiler in an off-gas grid one bedroom flat where space is so tight we need to get the old LPG boiler out of the kitchen and have an electric combi in an internal cupboard.

Questions: we are looking to get an Elnur Mattira 14kW combi (heat output for the "rain style" shower (no bath) driving the capacity, rather than the room heating needs): does anyone have anything untoward to report on this make? (Apart from being unable to find any user reports on this make an advantage is the size for getting in the cupboard)

Second, the combi would be mounted on the wall above a washing machine in the same cupboard: any problems envisaged/experienced?

A small flat might only have a 60A incoming supply (or possibly even lower), so before anything else - check that!!

Thank you,and I should have said a thing or two to reflect the expertise I am tapping into. Yes I did check and in fact the incoming fuse is 100A so that is OK. And to add that having decided what combi we want and its location we shall pass the work to a qualified electrician to get it done right and signed off properly!

How sure are you that it's not just a 100A stamped carrier with a smaller rated fuse inside? That does happen quite often. NB - that's theoretically something that you shouldnt be able to determine yourself!

I'm reasonably confident as on "my side" of the meter there is an isolating switch with fuse and on inspection I found this was an 80A cartridge fuse - so even if the 100A fuse 'holder' is in fact only 80A I should still be OK for the combi plus whatever else might be on at the same time.

So that's solved one problem.
Sounds like a decent multi supply installation, each with individual switched fuse.

In any event this would all be checked by the electrician. At the moment I am more interested in any feedback folks might have on the proposed Elnur Mattira combi boiler as I don't want to suggest something which has a poor track record.

Any comments on experiences with the Elnur Mattira electric combi boiler would be most welcome.

Is moving the lpg boiler an option? Not sure how much lpg costs in relation to grid gas, but electric is usually the most expensive

Can't help with that as I've never fitted one or seen one.
If it helps, my parents have an Amptec Heat Rae Sadia C1100 which hasn't skipped a beat since fitted about 12 years ago.
If your current LPG boiler isn't a combi this could be a significantly simpler change and it's a very compact unit.
Obviously, if you need a combi then this doesn't help at all!

If it's a stud wall you could screw a piece of 3/4" ply over the plasterboard first.

I watched a plumber fix a boiler to a stud wall once, it fell of!
