Anyone on here install electric gates? I could do with a bit of info if anyone has time could you pm me, cheers guys
 
Most motors are 230v or 24v you can get 415v and also 12v
Most common 230v/24v systems use 230v 5amp power to the control box
Then in most 230v systems a capacitor is fitted across the opening and closing live circuits of each of the motors
There is no need for any capacitors with the 24v systems

So from the home 5a 30ma rcd fused spure 3 core 4mm swa to the control panel
Across the drive to the 2nd motor if its 230v use 4 core 1.5 swa
and if its a 24v system you will only need 1.5 3 core cable
though you may need 4 more cores for limit switches if fitted to the system

As far as I know the only systems that can pass the gate force test without any extra bump strips is the 24v systems

As for intercom cable cat 5 4twisted pair out side cable is good for most residential single dwellings or you can use grease filled cable
