What is a typical loading for double electric gates? Any particular requirements required? It will be RCD protected and wired in SWA. Better on own circuit or off ring circuit?
Cat 5 required at all?

Make sure you purchase a good quality electric swing gate system, or you'll be a regular visitor to this job, and all unpaid under warranty for a year!! lol!! These electric gate systems can be your worst nightmare, so choose with extreme caution!! lol!!

At this point in time, my job is to get electric there, but I'm thinking of intercom and this day n age enough cables there for working off i-phones.

Ducting will also be required between the posts for transmitter/receiver etc.

Owner has already put in ducting across the entrance by the road side.......but I'm sure the LBA will make him put the gate further back from the road. The idea being the vehicle pulls off the road completely then stop as at the gate. he will have to just do it again. Thanks for reply, appreciate it.

Thanks for advice......yes will be in ducting. I tend to use Polyduct from Jewsons or the larger double wall rib ducting that just slots together.
Good shout about SWA cat 5 cable though. I was unaware that it even existed. what did sparks use in the past for intercom etc years a go?
we tend to use belden (yy or twisted pair) for indoor intercoms etc, armoured twisted pair has been around for a few years now, im not sure exactly how long
