Hi, I've been asked for advice on what would be an efficient electric heater for a conservatory. I know electric isn't the best way to heat a room but do such products exist that are more efficient, not particularly less watts but just more efficient.

obviously storage heaters on economy7 but that's not really an option as the room is used as a spur of the moment.

There will not be much difference in efficiency for electric heating, despite the manufacturers claims.
You are really looking at the type of heating that will be needed, the tube heaters above are very good for keeping a background warmth in a reasonably insulated room; you can also get small panel convector heaters that do the same job if you have limited length for install. If you were just wanting to heat a room quickly for a short while then fan heaters would be effective, but not very efficient. If you just needed short term warmth for a person then radiant heaters (so long as you can maintain separation from flammables) would be the most effective means.

I have found that electric ufh can be effective in the type of situation you describe, especially if kept on for long periods, but at a lower level. It can provide the comfort levels people are looking for. That said, any form of occasional electric heating would not be my first choice!

As above all electric heating is 100% efficient with the exception perhaps of ASHP which wouldnt be suitable.

You would probably be best served by something with instant heat like a fan of not too noisy.

UFH would be ok but takes a little while to warm up.

A slimline dimplex convector heater or 2 will be fine
