Do you have any proof that said intruder has legal recourse in such a situation?
Or is that just you believing and repeating what the journalists have invented on a slow news day?

As i say the law is generally a full blown ---, so it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if what PEG is suggesting is
the Truth the whole Truth ....and nothing but the Truth!!

Tend to agree with Eng,the fact that he still walks amongst us,has saved you from finding out,one way or another...if an "intruder" has legal recourse to claim against an injury sustained whilst chorring your gear, even via your dogs teeth, then a definitive answer to your question is not possible...then again, better to be judged by 12,than carried by 6 :stooge_curly:
Top tip, keep a knife in a plastic bag somewhere handy at home,if you get an intruder simply beat him unconscious get his prints on the knife, place back in bag then hand to the pc on his arrival.Carrying a knife changes a simple burglary charge to one of aggravated burglary which always carries a spell inside, and naturally the police will believe you over some theiving low life that broke into your home hell bent on frightening your wife and kids and stealing your possesions.

Well a burglar once broke into the place where my dad worked, fell down an inspection pit breaking his legs and was stuck there until the morning.

He sued on the grounds that the pit should have been covered and won his case.

He got his compo and the company got roasted by HSE.

Well,my friend, having both parents journalists their whole working lives, one sister a paramedic, and the other an officer in GMP,AND having actually BEEN in many of these "predicaments",i need furnish your good self with nothing, but my opinion. :coolgleamA:

you can't be held responsible for a muppet doing something he should not have.

Trouble is that you can.
I have to sit through interminable safety courses and examples get cited.

London Metropol construction work........
Some workers went off to have a brew. Left the key in the fork lift truck.
A labourer thought it would be a good way to get up to some scaffolding, fell off and got injured.

Although not directly involved London Metropol took the rap.
Duty of care......
