Hi everyone, can I ask a quick question please? If you use a Henley block, and install a separate DB, can you forget about the 100 amp incomer on the original consumer unit? i.e. it wouldn't apply as far as your paperwork is concerned as you've installed say a separate 3 way board? So the paperwork just reflects this part of the installation?
Sorry if this is a stupid question.

The actual amount of current draw for pieces of equipment rarely gets to actual rated demand...take cookers for example.....the first 10A then 30% of the rest...unless the cooker switch incorparates a socket of course thenits +5A...hardly...DNO fuse busting stuff is it...and a cooker can be assumed to be one of the heavier loads encountered within a domestic scenareo.....

Maybe there should be a 'STUPID QUESTION' forum then for members to post 'stupid' but 'clever' jokey questions, if you get my drift. i.e.
I've been asked to install an electric chair in Barlinnie prison because the SNP government are determined to reintroduce capital punishment, as this is 'government' work I'm keen to comply with current regulations so do you think I should install an RCBO?

Not sure what you're getting at Davie but what might seem a stupid question to some rarely is to others. I wouldn't like to think people are afraid to ask for fear of being ridiculed just in case somebody considers it a stupid question. It's a forum after all.
