Electrical estimating?

Hello everyone.

I've been working for over eleven years directly for the leading electrical contractor for London and south east area as electrical estimator. When I search the internet I can't find any reasonable electrical estimating courses and the literature available is usually good but for "square foot" type of estimating calculations used in companies where the margin is huge (especially for Stage D calculations). In fact there is a plenty of hidden traps which are hard to come across without the practical experience of electrical contractor working on site. The reason why I added this topic is the simple question/survey about eventual future interest with course/lessons about practical electrical estimating. I don't take it as advert but I'm just curious of any interest and opinions about the need of creation of this type of "training" for contractors or individuals willing to expand their knowledge by estimating factor. Would anyone be interested with this type of thing at all? Please let me know your opinions.

I have actually been searching the net for any kind of training regarding estimating and i cant find anything in the UK at all.
So if you looking to start a business offering training i can imagine there will be some demand!

I would have thought that this is something born from experience? How did you get started?
Your idea is sound as there is a lack of training available, but you would need to convince the major players of that.
I constantly have to estimate costs and resources for projects yet have no formal training in such things.
