Who else gets these, unexplainable faults that correct themselves?

Had one today in the site canteen, one of the fryers wasnt working so i checked the supply, 230v at the supply and load end of the isolator, checked at the outlet plate, 36v L - N, Disconnected the circuit and done IR test and came back clear, Didnt have much time on the job so put everything back together, switched it on and it was working fine, iv got no explanation as to what the fault was.

had this problem on fryers before. Check your neutrals if your only getting 36v Phase - N whats the readings P-E? if its 230v you may have dropped a neutral

check the voltages inside the unit. I know its greasy but it does help

sounds like a poor neutral connection I would suggest you check the teminations. If it goes completly then the metal casing may go live. i had the same problem many years with a servery counter in Bosnia
that folk were gettting shocks from. 63V on metal casing and no neutral

will have another look tomorrow, its vital for the breakfast :)

Used to be regular on some of the plants I worked on.
½ mile trek to the faulty bit of kit, get there and start testing. Can’t find anything wrong, shout the control rum to t give it a try, off it goes. Hadn’t done a thing!

Get in early! If you are nice an early and you get special treatment from the chefs? I am guessing from the Light Infantry badge its a MOD site

No that was a long time ago, its just your bog standard building site, i did get a free lunch for FIXING it today
