Don't get me wrong but I'm not trusting of deals like this, not saying that they'd use scare tactics to get extra work...

If they are, as it says, " NICEIC registered, proffesional electricians for over 25 years" then they should know you can not do FULL EICR for £39. Unless its just looking at the install.

'NICEIC certificate if assessment is successful'. So no certificate of failure issued ? In other words, no certificate until corrections are carried out. No certificate, no £39, I say, pass or fail.
The issue then concerns corrective work. 30% off what ? 'Foot in the door' tactics, me thinks.

It goes wothout saying, they will not pass, and the money will be earned from the remedials.

However, the name looks a bit suss.

Makes the offer sound VERY dodgy.

Surely just a walk around & visual inspect - with their instructions to "make sure you find something wrong and don't forgot to tell the customer it's unsafe and wants doing ASAP"

It's just another marketing tool.

They've sold 3 so far so will likely only loose a few hundred pounds in total, but they've had exposure to all the visitors to Groupon, and now exposure thro' this and other forums.

It's the same reason people put amusing text in Ebay adds

All groupon deals look too good to be true, another is full oven clean for £10.

You should get them out to do the inspection, then when they give a list of remedial work say its ok i'll do em myself

Ha, ha I wouldnt want to waste my money. Does annoy me the con for the likley work they are going to carry out, im sure this company carrys out property maintaince for my local council North West Leicestershire. A supposed APPROVED CONTRACTOR!

This is either a drive by EICR or one of those Visual Inspection Electrical Certificate that NICEIC are promoting but contributes nothing to electrical safety plus yet again when I see a business use a middleman I just shake my head. But I do educate customers by saying going direct is cheaper so maybe its all about education
