Hi all
I have been doing a few minor works, for a letting agency, until my part p assessment comes around I have been asked if I can do a electrical installation report, the house in question is an old terrace with 3 circuit rewire able fuse box with three fuse cooker lights power single red for lighting, hence I raised the issues on condition. do I need a specific qualification I have 2392,my 17th 2330level 2 and m part p certificates. also what is the average cost of these.
regards
Dave

I would say it depends on your experience, qulifications don't mean a lot if you carnt apply the theory in field. But if you think your competent to judge if the installation is safe for continued use go ahead.

Hi guy
I am quite new testing worked manly within the refrigeration sector. I have not had a lot of testing experience but gaining as I do. The wiring on this property is very old and main earthing is under size. and would this it would fail it barely past its IR

It may be wiser to walk away from this. Or better still if you have a more experienced friend see if can help out with it. Your are putting your name to it.

Do you think you are capable of carrying this out correctly to part 6 IET BS7671:2008?
Whats that, never heard of one
competance

Sorry mate just got up you say three fuses, cooker power lights single red for lights, confused .com

I have 2392,my 17th 2330 level 2 and m part p certificates.

Didn't know that the 2330 was a level 2. C&G 2330 is level 3!! The only people that have this pointless certificate are electrical trainee's and the like.

I'm leaning towards the latter from the content of your posts on this thread.....
