Didn't know that the 2330 was a level 2. C&G 2330 is level 3!! The only people that have this pointless certificate are electrical trainee's and the like.

I'm leaning towards the latter from the content of your posts on this thread.....

There are 3 lvls for 2330

1,2 and 3

Hi all
my original post was do I need specific qualification to do a eicr. not sure why when anyone post here the have to be slated

With reference to engineers post, it seems unless you have been doing the job from age16 then no one should be trained

2330 was the only available course when I decided to go to collage at night to retrain, Is that a crime what would you suggest ?

So in answer to this specific point no, but you do need experience and competence - which as a newbie, you could well struggle. My advice to you would be to get a local buddy to accompany you on your first 2 or 3 EICR's so that you know how they are done correctly.

If you have no electrical experience then start as an electrician's mate

Well, look at the OP's previous posts. Its not up to me to do anything about this, but getting some hands on experience doing EICR's would be a better first step than not having any direct training or experience!

1s n 2s? now that takes me back, late nights, loud 'music', lazer lights, and, a s***load of dangerous crap too!

On top of your competency you will also need professional indemnity insurance, as you will be advising a paying customer on thecondition of their electrical installation.

As for the 4mm MEC do the adibiatic equation you will the be able to advise your customer accordingly
