Hello what sort of jobs do you with a electrical installation certificate and are there any better topics to study. Thanks

you use an EIC for any jobs entailing new circuits, CU changes, rewires, basicaly. minor works cert. for aterations e.g.extra sockets on existing circuit. anything bigger requires EIC.

I always felt that law was a better topic to study, it also pays a lot better, I'm sorry but your post makes no sense what so ever, perhaps you might want to try again.

EIC covers Additions to an existing system, Alterations to an existing system and New Installations
page 3 is a better topic to study. it don't pay as well as law though.......

I think the question might mean, what areas of work does an Electricians Qualification/Ticket cover.

There's lot of other subjects/topics/careers to study for other than electrics, but there's no short cuts.

If I knew the easy way to study to earn a living, I would not tell anyone.

i think the OP means city and guilds certificate.

As far as your question mate, our industry values competence and experience above qualifications, however you must have a minimum of a level 3 technical cert along with an NVQ3 to call yourself an electrician (if starting out nowadays). The older lads used to serve proper apprenticeships, and they are just as (if not more) valueable as the above quals.

This goes for maintenance sparks, motor rewinders, panel builders and installation sparks.

The point about experience and competence is very very important. A sparks who has a maintenance city and guilds/nvq is not prevented from doing installation work or any other electrical discipline, providing he is competent to do so. the same goes for all disciplines. However, not all sparks are competent to carry out work from anotrher discipline. its about knowing your limits, and not being afraid to question yourself if need be.

a domestic installation sparks may struggle in an industrial situation, and the reverse is also true, even thoug they may hold the same quals.

Being qualified doesnt stop you beinmg prosecuted if you hurt somebody thorugh incompetence.

Hope thishelps, and im happy to clarify anything if you ask.
