electrical trade test offshore

can anybody shed some light on a trade test that you have do to get employed by certain companies, i have just been looking to work offshore and a few agencys have mentioned this test.any info would be apprieciated

There is a 1 week course called compEx it costs £1000 . It is for installations in hazardous areas , it is mandatory for most offshore sparkys to have this now.

Don't know about trade test but you would need to do a medical,offshore
survival,Huet,RGIT,OPITO for uk,NSOC-Dfor Denmark,OLF for Norway,NOGEPAfor Holland,first aid,firefighting,Compex.Probably get the lot for around 3000 quid.(plus your digs)Then still no guarantee of a job.Best to get the company to put you thru the courses. You can watch them do the helicopter simulated rescue on youtube-offshore survival.
