Electrical Underfloor Wiring.

Hi There,

This is my first post and need a little help.

I am currently on a large barn conversion which has water underfloor heating there are a total of five manifolds serving the under floor heating, I also have one large megaflow which will be deliver the hot water, I also have one swimming pool heater unit and one very large valiant system boiler,

I have a series of pumps and 2 port valves.

The problem I have is that I am worried about a backfeed somewhere in the circuit.

As i have at least 6 switch wires running back and only one boiler control please can someone advise of what my options are, ie Relay wiring.

I am a approved electrician with a bright knowledge of central heating electrical wiring, but being honest this one has thrown me and would like some honest information to see if anyone has been there before and what they did the rectify the problem.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Justin.

You could use a multi input relay. Upto 7 inputs and this transfers to one output. Or wire as a s plan grey and orange can be switched anyway. Just sounds like an extended s plan

You would need six relays for six boiler on inputs to end up with one boiler on output....I gave the connections in my previous post.
Six boiler on wires to energise the six relay coils.Link a separate live to one side of all six N/O poles of the relays. From the other side of the six N/O poles link a wire and then to the boiler on trigger on the boiler.
Each valve output will energise a relay, which will start the boiler via a separate live through the N/O contacts which will close when the coil energises.
You cant get a backfeed up the wires from the valves as they are only connected to each coil.

it's 5 minutes work with a logic strip or the multi -input relay no need to wire a load of relays

Hi there,

Been thinking about it yes your right this is the right way to do it,

Will have a look at RS site for the relays,

Many Thanks for your help.

Justin.

Hi,

I have been looking this morning and will be using relays where the boiler and megaflow is located,

As for the manifold positions I have already heatmiser control units, that is plug and play with the pum and actuators.

Many thanks
