I have been applying to companies for 2 years now, I have my Electrical Installation 2330, 17th Edition, and currently taking my 2394 and 2395 Testing and Inspection. I have no experience because I can't get a Job as an electrician due to no experience, how do I get into the Electrical Trade, is there anyone out there who can help me. I am fresh out of college and would really appreciate it if someone could help me. Thank you

This bloke is based in esher area, boasts about it in one of the pubs I go in. Knows his stuff and used to run 90 sparks for Skanska so always useful to have his number when coming across odd stuff. Suppose he is just exploiting desperation of new sparks for his own advantage yet they're using him for experience just as much.

Talking to wholesalers is a valuable exercise - that is where electricians chat and exchange gossip, which the chaps behind the counter hear and build a picture of what everyone's up to. When I was being made redundant I happened to mention it at the wholesaler and he said, "I know XX may be looking for someone, but he's really fussy and a bit of a slave driver. Neil Y has just got a big contract and may be after someone too, I'll give you his number, he's a thoroughly good egg." So I went to see Neil and got the job.

Sorry I've rambled on a bit, but you get the idea!

Also register with as many agency's as you can for electricians mates work if you need the experience, make sure you have a cscs card if going onto building sites. If they don't call you, call them twice a day if need be as soon as they get a job in its normally gone pretty quick so if your lucky enough to be on the phone to them or they remember you, you can get your foot in the door
