The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires the use of electrical gloves for electric work. Depending on the electricity’s voltage, there are different classes of electrical gloves to choose from, including 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4.

OP is from Ukraine, so won't be too woried about OSHA requirements.

Still, it's interesting to note that such a requirement exists in the US.

Is this required for all electrical work?

Do you not have safe isolation procedures to ensure things are dead before you start work?

I never used to wear gloves but in the last few years I wear them most of the time.
I just use Screwfix Site general purpose, I can do most things wearing them now, seem to adapt after a while..
I think it was getting a nasty cut just opening a cardboard box that made me decide.

Yep I wear cut gloves for most tasks

I never used to use gloves until about a year or so ago, I found these excellent and use them daily. They are thin so you still have some feel through them and they are not too warm and sweaty, but they do stop cuts and scrapes well!

I don't buy anything other than level 5 cut resistant. No point in pulling on the wrong gloves and slicing a hand on strut or trunking. It's difficult to find good dexterity in these, but Pawa and Amazon Commercial gloves strike the right balance without breaking the bank.

Company I work for supplies is all with uvex brand cut resistant gloves. Good gloves and we wear them for everything. Obviously would depend on the specific work case but these are good general purpose gloves! Cut 3 of the fingertips off too so you have a bit of extra dexterity when doing something fiddly.

I've said this before on this thread somewhere I'm sure. These are my daily use gloves, they have stopped me injuring my hands many times, I still have good dexterity and feel with them so M4 screws are not a complete pain to pick up, they seem to last well, with a wash of course. But I can get from a good couple of hard days to a couple of weeks use from a pair.

Best gloves I ever had were from amazon's commercial range. Level 5 cut resistant, steel woven with either nitrile or PU dip.

Lasted months and were tougher than old boots, but provided unbelievable dexterity. As with all good things, they're no longer available and I'm trying to make remaining supply last as long as possible.
