Hi
who designs the electrical drawings because I’m struggling to find those jobs online?
I assumed this is a electrical designer or electrical architect position but didn’t show related jobs.
I’m an electrician and enjoyed these studies and college projects.
What next? Do employers care about the 2396 course or do u need a cad related hnd ? If so are there any employers known for paying for this putting electricians through training does being an electrician help get you trained ?

Is it just the drawing element you want to do or the actual design and drawings? If it’s the design that your are interested in then it would be a consulting engineering type role you would need to go for.

The job of that chooses cable sizes after cable calcs and where to place equipment in a building and how many.

Normally within a company of that type they will have engineers that do the design and also cad technicians who can knock up the drawings quickly for them. I personally do a lot of cad drawings but it was all self taught from simply moving things on existing drawings to doing full multi layer layouts. You could possibly do an evening course on cad as I doubt any electrical company will spend the time and money to train you on it.

The City and Guilds 2396 is a good course for general electrical design.
