electrician who cant keep his lights on

been living in a house about two years only built 5 years ago and have a strange problem with lights.can not get cfl lamps to last more than about six months and lucky to get gls lamps to last a month.have tried different quality lamps and have found that does not make any difference.never have this problem with table lamps so thought maybe lighting circuits but after doing insulation restance test,polarity,and earth loop impedance test nothing showed up as abnormale.only seven lamps on each circuit and this is happening on all three lighting ciruits. nothing has changed electrically since i have been here and have had electricians with more experiance than i have to cheak things through in case i missed anything and still no answer to what is causing the problem.any ideas on possible cause would be great as it is not funny anymore been the electrician who cant keep his lights on.thanks

Voltage spikes creep to mind.

Maybe add surge protectors to each lighting cct adjacent to the DB.

Do you live near an electrical substation also is there building works ie house development close by if so your voltage could be a bit high. I got called out to an old dear years ago as her alarm panel was in a fault condition checked it out and could not understand why the pc card was u/s until I put my fluke across the mains and found the voltage to be 270 VAC. Phoned the supplier and found that they adjusted the tappings on the transformer due to the volt drop supplying a new scheme up the road only to find that the houses near the substation supply voltages shot up (mostly at night)
supplierthen said sorry we will not accept liability due to your meter not having a calibration certificate I said yes it does and they put the phone down.

thanks for the suggestions.have done work on houses on same estate and no one else seems to have the same problem.not anywhere near excessive vibrations and no new estates going up around us.supplyer (esb)sent out an electrician who said he didnt do fault-finding, no luck there.will try putting surge protection on one of the light circuits to see if it helps .thanks again for the advice given

This is why all meters should be calibrated every 12 months as if it goes to court case can be lost.

Possible bad connection at incomer on mains at DB, Cutout or cable external to property?

Suggest you contact DNO again and ask them to check the voltage.

They should fit a monitor for atleast a week. Try and get it a bit longer. They will not charge you for this.

Make sure its connected as close to the incomming cable as possible. Some will just plug into a socket.

PM if your having problems with DNO.

Warning, if it an external issue, they have six months to fix it.
