Evening all,

Does anyone around has a list of common electrician terms when it comes to installation. I am an adult learner and I was always stock when my mentor talk to me in short or abbreviation term, e.g IMO, DB. etc. It would be a big help if anyone can share some for me.

thank you all,

have a nice evening,

Lplate

I was in this game for 7 years before someone sprang the term 'besa box' on me. Confused face.com.

That's the thing, some many items get referred to by different names, it's hard to keep up. All the dude meant was a galvanised conduit box, which I had only ever known as a 'through', '90', 'end' or 'trouser'.

Oh, and I just recently found out that 'hook and loop' means 'velcro' which like sellotape and hoover is a trade name!
