When I say sometimes, I think I had a look last year.

Absolutely not!

Most of the "Advice" there is completely wrong and against regulations as well as common sense!

But it's so dominated by the "ill-informed" that anytime anything correct is stated it's overwhelmed by bad and incorrect advice.

I don't even look now - I find it too frustrating that such bad information is being published, and I know that I would be drawn into attempting to correct it - to no avail by weight of bad advice from those established on the forum.

There's a lot of infighting on there as well and some aggression toward people posting questions. Most of the older members on Talk Forum are from there as they got fed up with it but that is only marginally better.

i have indulged myself on there from time to time, but it always turns into a bunfight. I feel sorry for any trusting person who goes on to ask an honest question.

I’m intrigued on what @Dan is “testing” according to OP.

Maybe a bot script that finds every electrical question on the SF forum, and sends a direct message to the user saying “you’ll get dodgy advice asking here…. Try asking at possibly the best electrical forum in the world.”

I hadn't been on there before so went on just to see what it's like. I don't think I'll stay there
Having said that it doesn't seem as bitchy or political as a certain other DIY site.
