electrics in a shower!

I have just carried out a EICR on a house in London where the local council have put in a new bathroom.
On one wall is a plastic access hatch, it does not require any tools to open or is it sealed to prevent water getting in.
Behind the panel is a 230 v fuse spur feeding a selv transformer for a waste water pump.
It is supplied by a 30 mA RCD
What zone would it be in as I feel this does not comply with BS 7671

You don't say where this is in relation to the shower or bath so how can we comment?

It's in the shower cubical about 30m up off the tray.

These access panels usually need a screwdriver to prise them off. So its outside of zones.

But is the panel and thereby the 230V equipment "suitable for its environment". If the panel isn't, then the equipment isn't either. It's Zone 1 so the panel should be IPX5 minimum to allow 230V equipment to be used.

Well at 30 metres as you say I would not be concerned.
