Armley as in HMP? Fair play mate it will go well in the collection, a very comprehensive description from Tony, the man certainly knows his stuff. Still prefer Shagbite's picture though, sorry :)
near the big `ouse...
you can see it from where i was working...

Armley Jail, I think I went there once...NOT as an inmate!
The place was archaic back in the 70s.

Pints of Boddies were absolutely delightful at the Brewery Tap before the cunoots turned it into a carpark.
Pride of Manchester, Pride of Ballcocks.

Hello Shagbite.

The picture you posted looks as though it's the DEPENDENT MANUAL OPERATION model........they give good service but need close attention to detail great care in use!

Regards,

Colin Jenkins.

Neat - don't often see them this clean and tidy. I've probably got specs & dwgs in the handbook somewhere. Use it as a novelty light switch? Or do you have a biggish motor that needs protection? I see yours has the sticky-outy pushbuttony bit on the top but in Shagbite's pic they are on the front, two on each unit. Not sure why that is.

yes...they do look quite the picture of loveliness dont they....
see how the one in the left middle softly caresses the other ones round arse....
i could see them being quite useful `contacts`...
i wonder if they would like to see my toolbox?

Oh, sorry, i thought you were on about #2

hmm....looks like its back to the oily old breaker then.....

We had 100’s of Ellison OCB’s. The ones in the various lift motor rooms always got a rub over with a rag to keep them looking nice.

The ones out on the plant looked like they’d had a bucket of pigeon sh!t thrown over them. (They had! We had a hell of a problem with pigeons).

Being cast iron the Ellison OCB’s bodies survived. Pity the same couldn’t be said for the big red button on top, they were aluminium. Pigeon poo dissolved them and seized them up!

Hit the stop button? Hit it and it would disintegrate leaving you with you’re hand impaled on a threaded spike.
