Hello All, Just installed EM lighting in a building used as a training school, fitted EM at each exit and escape routes (2)

Escape route fixed lighting circuits are fed from separate consumer units,do i connect EM lighting separately into each consumer unit,or into the DB that feeds these consumer units? also can you advise ,if there a new cert for testing EM Lighting if so were can i get them from.

Thank you

Evo

The emergency lights need to be connected to the lighting circuit in the area where the emergency lights are to be fitted, doughnut, if the lights go out due to a power cut then the emergency lights will need to come on in place of the normal lighting., As for certification, I am almost silenced

The Em lights must be feed from the circuit, which is supplying the normal lighting in that area. You need to use some common sense here. if the supply is lost in an ground floor corridor, then the emergency lighting will need to illuminate in the ground floor corridor. Not the first floor conference room.
Which ever scheme you are with should provide you with certificates, and a good point of reference will be the BS5266
