Kevin

I've just completed my 2372 PV course at DCET Training in Exeter. Whilst I was there, I enquired about doing my NVQ3 with them. They told me, that I would have to apply for it before the end of March, as after that my 2330 Technical Certificate would not count towards the new NVQ replacement qualification (think this is the 2357) and after March I would have to take the whole qualification again to complete my NVQ!

Has anyone else heard about this? I've just looked at the City and Guilds website, and they state the last registration date for the NVQ3 (2356) is 31/3/2011, which sort of qualifies what I have been told.

Thanks

K

Edit: After a bit more research, it seems you can map the 2330 across to the new 2357, however there is a unit (302) that was not included in the 2330, that would have to be completed in order to complete the 2357. So I would have to register for the NVQ3 (2356) before the end of the month, and complete it before 2013 to get my JIB grading!

as far as i know last registration for both the 2330 and the NVQ 2356 lv3 is the 31.07.2012

the only time you will have to do the knowledge assesment is if you havnt completed a apprenticeship
or 2330 lv3 or the the 236 pt 1 & 2 think its called that.So at Delta Training if you have lv3 2330 or 236pt2 then you dont and cost about ÂŁ600 with vat, at VQ training its ÂŁ510 plus vat
if you have lv2 of 2330 or pt1 of 236 then with VQ training will let you do half knowledge assesment at a cost of ÂŁ780
If you dont have a apprenticeship qualifications or any of the 2330 or 236 then its full price
Delta training are about ÂŁ900 with vat and think VQ a little cheaper for both of these you will have to do full knowledge assesment as far as i know

as for the NVQ with a college or other provider not sure what cost or requirments are

It’s sad that you had to say no more money to them for them to pull their fingers out.
