Well chaps I have finally decided to pack the game in,was told to do so a few years back for health reasons but carried on.However after a particularly bad week I have now decided to turn and walk away,my question is this, what do I do with all the kit that I accumulated over the years? only bought a new mft at the begining of the month some may say keep it all but I want a clean break and if I keep it I,ll only end up going back whats the best way to get rid locally? can,t be doing with flea bay etc.

list your gear on the for sale forum. sure you'll get loads of takers.

Phil so sorry to hear that your having to give it up mate, whatever you do all the very best for the future.

Put some cards/flyers up in at the local wholesalers if you have a good relationship with the lads in there.

Parish and Church mags are normally free so an ad in there, and you can also place an ad for a few weeks in the local rag for a few pounds.

Have thought though about just keeping a few things mate to just keep an hand in so to speak

Yeah Malc will keep a few hand tools but gonna get shut of all the test gear and power tools just want to make sure I can,t get dragged back into the job big time again, just seem to spend my life clearing up everyone elses mess, perhaps I should change my name to Dirty Harry, I get all the nasty jobs!

All the best to you.

Wont you miss going up in the roof spaces with the fiberglass in the summer, the outside lights to do in the rain and the new builds with no windows in, in the winter at minus 10 with an easterly wind?

Maybe not! Enjoy your retirement.

Good luck for the future, I am sure you have made the best decision, anyone would be a fool to be a sparky  (possibly the wrong forum for that).
Probably worth putting a few ads in your local wholesalers if they will let you, should have some good take up there.

U could post items on the for sale forum here, if you don't want to do that the next best thing to eBay is gum tree. Failing that like someone said post adverts in local shops

Would probably get a better response here thou

Best of luck with your health and your retirement
I understand where your coming from My old grandpa was going underfloors till he literaly couldnt any more He still supervised my first few homers( forigners) When he did pop his cloggs his garage was found to be packed with all sorts of stuff specialy the "This will come in usefull" stuff
