Well chaps I have finally decided to pack the game in,was told to do so a few years back for health reasons but carried on.However after a particularly bad week I have now decided to turn and walk away,my question is this, what do I do with all the kit that I accumulated over the years? only bought a new mft at the begining of the month some may say keep it all but I want a clean break and if I keep it I,ll only end up going back whats the best way to get rid locally? can,t be doing with flea bay etc.

Another great spark hanging up his overalls for his last time, sad day for the industry mate.

On the other hand a great day for me! I've got first dibs on your sds drill, thanks Phil. I'm over the moon with it.

Lads I know what he's selling, keep an eye out on the for sale thread when he posts them up. The commercial/industrial lads will be happy.

I understand why your jacking it in and wish you all the best. I know you'll stay on the forum just so you can give us lot your knowledge and experience. Maybe the mods can change your membership title to "respected old fart member"? (what do you mean the price of that sds has gone up :)).

Cheers lads, I,m deeply touched by your replies in my line of work you have few friends and many aquaintences(people who only want you when they need something) seems I have more real friends on here than in the "real world" thanks again lads.

i'd keep the essentials and perhaps keep your hand in with small jobs, family & friends etc. i'm still at it for financial reasons ( need the bloody money), but can pick and choose what jobs i do. 2/3 days a week will do for me, not as fast or agile as i used to be. ).

Sorry, a bit slow with my "all the best". It's only when you have a period of real ill-health that you realise how much we all take good health for granted. Like some others I've been fortunate to get through one really bad health problem, and it does make you lok at life (and work) differently.

I hope things improve and that you continue to keep contributing to the forum.

Kind regards.

Why don't you raffle it off to us or something if it's any use to people on here
have a bit of fun getting rid of it obviously don't give it away

dont ditch all the tools phil.....there will come a time every now n then when you`l need stuff for little jobs .....even if its just to relieve the bordom.....and watch out for the bootsale if you try sellin it on there....as their just full of dealers out for what they can get for nowt....at least if you offer it for sale in here you know its going to be used by other fellow electricians....not hawked about for the benefit of tool dealers out for a quick buck.....
