does anyone know if the enersys microinverters can actually be used without the communication side of things - ie just the microinverter unit with the panel?

Yes you can use Enecsys microinverter without monitoring, works perfectly. It`s onley there for aditional security for investor, customer and Enecsys PR. Aldo they have issues with wierless mon. as monitoring ocationaly needs reboting and early models in some cases suffered with total faliure of monitoring wile they perfectly generating el energy . Enphase micro, same story but much more reliable monitoring throgh same electrical circut, including temperature data on panel level. Easy to recognice anny malfunction of anny panel or microinverer. On the long run you can be surprise how mutch diferentley same panels on same set up performe diferently to the tune of 5 -10 % . Worthwile future security in MO.

I've emptied it again. I've limited my hours on here though so will only be on in short bursts.
