Hi,

for or those of you who have got engaged, how big a rock did you go for? I've just purchased one a few weeks ago, it will be ready this week.

diamonds are a lot more complicated than I realised.

I've previously purchased 2.
Both of them walked off attached to fingers.

I definitely won't be buying any more.

P.S the 2nd one cost about the same price as the whole of the 1st (and only) wedding.

Women are way more complicated than Diamonds.

As big as you cannot afford, if they do not have a loupe available go for whiteness and not gem quality, they will never notice!!!
Hmm thinking on snowheads post, do not risk it go for d grade vvsi and think manfully about the love of your life not eviscerating you!

I went for a 0.73ct Grade D IF with excellent cut and symmetry, in a platinum ring with shoulders, I debated it for a long time, I heard that lower grades can look yellowish so I didn't risk it.

No one to moan about you going to the pub when you want, or when you want to play golf, or who you've been speaking to/texting/Facebooking! No one to spend money on at Xmas apart from the kids! And for what you get in return...... :wink5:

Wow, fairly impressed, I would say you are not stinting on quality there, if miss UKsparks is not happy then you need to choose someone else!
Grades D to F in a platinum setting would all look the same, down to Vs2 would be imperceptible, my spec was intended to be the un-achievable and this is what you got.

If you think diamonds are complicated are you confident you understand women????

Only just seen this thread Tom.

Congratulations chap, I'm chuffed for you :hurray:

If your missus wants the most expensive ring possible that you can buy then, in my opinion, you are with the wrong woman. My missus just wanted a small engagement ring that she liked the look of. It didn't cost a lot. Still going strong after 13 years. (only cause I cant find anyone else who will put up with me.... :) )
