mine liked the look of a zircon ring. 10 x the size of a diamond equivalent at 1/10th of the price. when it comes later to wedding rings, depending on the size of her finger, either a bit of 15mm or 22mm copper pipe from the plumber's scrap or a brass olive does the job.

haha. You could also drill a hole in a 2p coin and then bang that into a ring. Was a bit of a craze at one time when I was a young lad.

Could double as a knuckle duster as well..
