Engraved kitchen isolators (switched spurs, 32a DP , 20a DP)....

Can you get bespoke one offs, without paying the earth ?

I've got a few non standard items that's all, and want it to look the business as I've got x9 of them going together in a cupboard.

I would normally print off a sticky label but going a bit OCD on this job, as it's going to be quite a special one.

Thank you,

Sy

Have a word with your local wholesaler. About 4 years ago I had a standard white plastic Scolmore Click switch plate engraved. I have no idea who the wholesaler used to do it but the service is definitely available.

Any decent engraver should be able to do it, most have machines that are adjustable for different materials and effects. Glass engravers also do a shot blast method, using plastic sheet as a stencil.

Never really thought about engraving switch plates but some of the darker metal ones would look really nice. Not sure how it would effect plastic plates as the process may cause stress fractures that could damage the insulation.

Sy, have you thought of using a grid switch assembly - i use hager sollysta and they come with most kitchen appliance names on! It also looks far better than a row of FCUs

Have thought about that one thank you, but I've 2 x 32a DP which wouldn't go in there and also the non standard labels I'm after are :

Quooker Tap (instant boiling water tap)

Drawers (electric open/ close drawers)

Aga

Coffee Maker

just seen your reply after i put their list on. There is a coffee maker one, but prob not the others - but i you can get the extra 2 engraved. you are right that the 32a wont go in to the grid, just think that the big row doesnt look very nice.

eddies neweys and electric center have all supplied engraved stuff BUT it might be cheaper asking a trophy center or key man type place as they may be cheaper
the ones we had engraved had red infilled on the envraving looked the bizzz Iv also seen black flat plate engraved with the white metal showing through looks fantastic

Electric drawers? Are they what I think they are, ie. drawers that open with a button? Have we really got to this level of one-upmanship/laziness/whatever it is?????????? Daz

i wouldnt use a wholesaler, youd get a better deal at a signmaker/engraver that does panel lables etc, thats who they will use anyway, that way you can choose exactly how it will look, different fonts and colours etc and get it cheaper, labels printers are ok but you cant beat a proper engraved label for db's etc
