I have heard through a potential customer that another company has been offering an "energy wizard" that cuts power use by 10% I dont have the details yet but this seems to me like a scam anyone heard of this?

A box that you plug in that "corrects" the voltage and saves energy is what I have been told so far. I will be doing more digging but this ounds like snake oil to me, can't believe this sort of rubbish is now being pushed by pv companies!

There are people out there who are easily led and refuse to accept the laws of physics are unchangeable

Getting some sort of minimal gain in efficiency for a minority of low power system loads, that are hugely outweighed by the manufacturing costs and the purchase and installation costs of these pieces of nonsense

If someone wanted one,I would tell them to buy"moon tickets" because they have more potential for effective use of their money

I'll be honest - I don't fully understand the science behind it. I can see that it should make things last longer but I don't see where the reduced energy comes from. Will it not simply make kettles, immersion heaters, showers etc. take longer to heat up yet ultimately use the same power? Will it not just make lights very slightly less bright - and therefore use very slightly less power?

Science on these things are sound, but they are far more common / useful at the industrial scale. Not sure if it's worth installing in residential situations.
