Epson Printer Inks

Within a week of our admin department 'saving money' by buying cheap compatable replacements I had to strip down and clean out an inkjet printer and one of our lasers started smudging badly.
We stopped using the replacements.
For domestic use they seem to be fine (although I have had one printer brought to me from home with leaky replacement ink), and if there are problems they happen quickly after installing the replacements, so keep your eye on it for a few days, and if there are no problems your sorted!

Des mate, if you go to control panel>printers and faxes>right click on your printer, select printing preferences>click maintenance' tab>click 'speed and progress'>tick the 'disable status monitor' box, you should be able to use knock-off inks, and also it will let you change the cartridges when the ink has run out, rather than making you change them when Epson 'reckons you're getting a bit low'.

Ive threatened the printer with a lump hammer before now
