... I just know you'll love this one matey. A socket on its own, in a village hall. You tell me how this won't confuse the hell out of someone?!!

No I meant (e.g.) a duplex NEMA 5-15, each outlet 120V but one fed from L1+N and the other L2+N. Apart from Phil's possible sighting I don't recall any UK outlet that can do this. Even the oddball multiples like the New Day 'Fireside' socket (1x 13A BS1363 and 2x 2A BS546 fused down in the socket) and the Wylex dual (1x 15A, 1x2A fused in the plug) only ever took one circuit.

OK, with you....

I've seen what i call up-market architect/designer wall accessories (Wandsworth and the like) eg, double socket using two cut-out single units mounted in a faceplate with L-N wire links between the two units. Take away the cable links and each socket could be fed from a separate circuit/phase.... Same sort of thing with their cooker control unit, with a 45A DP switch and a 13A socket outlet and a 15A SP switch to control socket outlet. All individual units linked by factory wiring.

Yes, Wandsworth will still make you whatever you want in that respect, if you've got ££££ to throw away!
And of course if you arrive there to collect it at precisely 7 minutes past 3, no earlier, no later. (Anyone who has attempted to collect stuff from wandsworth will understand)
