Hi,

overvthis is last week I have lost a few friends,

all over the EU issue.

the conversation doesn't even get going and people just fall out with me, tonight I was told to f... Off and our friendship was over, he asked who I voted for so i told him. I have known him 7 years.

every day I speak to customers and people are all saying the same, the remainers do not want to now be friends with the leave lot. People are loosing long term friends.

Im not wanting to fall out with anyone, there is pros and cons to both sides of the coin and only time will tell who is right or wrong.

Are you quite young mate ? Reason I ask is with age comes experience. And experience learns us never to discuss ultimately three things. Politics, Football and religion. Heed this advice mate and you will not loose friends unnecessarily.
Im on the remain camp, nut I wouldn't hold it against my mates which ever way they may have voted. Infact something I saw and felt with the Scottish referendum was the in your face asking which way you voted/were going to vote.....I always fudged the question unless in the appropriate group set up to discuss politics. Your vote is for you and nobody else - you need tell nor explain to anyone.

I'm 33, it's not me who keeps bringing it up, but if you say I'm not saying then they know you voted out.

I don't see why everyone is so angry.

Im saying no more

I was brought up in your neck of the woods.
I always found it quite prudent to keep my views to myself lol.

One of my friends posted this on facebook:

"I can remember the days when I was a child that which way you voted was kept completely private & you never dared ask anyone who they voted for & why.
After seeing some of the attacks on each other this morning on fb Maybe that was the best way?"

I avoid trying to reason with lefties in real life and save it for here where it's a lot easier just to log off, or hit the 'report' button when the name calling starts. Given the way London voted and the usual response when the lefties don't get their own way, I'm expecting a repeat of the events of August 2011.

Lol mate your still a pup. Anybody asks just tell them you cant be arsed discussing it if with mates. If you are with customers either be professional and just tell them sorry but that is a private matter..I have had this with indi ref up north so DO know what you are talking about.

If you find you are in the company of a mentalist (full on supporter of either side). Just bloody agree with them and move on.

My cousin ran a pub in Dumbarton.
He barred football colours completely.
It seemed they liked the Tennents and a half as much as they liked the football lol.

People show their true colours when it comes to matters like this, if someone is so rash as to drop you out of their life then they were never really a true friend.
The Stranglers wrote a song called Skin Deep which is all about these kind of 'friends' who are only in it for their own agenda, genuine freinds see past the differences in opinion and respect each others views even if they do not agree.

I think you're better of without such people in your life, the words are very true about said people.

I'm 48. I don' have to deal with customers and if anyone asks for my opinion on the 3 above topics I tell them. The majority of them don't like my opinions once I've told them and I don't particularly care. I'm old and grumpy and that's the way I like it. I have this great tee shirt that has on it "GRUMPY. Not just a mood, it's a lifestyle"
