Hi all,

Cant find a good answer on the web, but this is my problem:

Ive just got given a Sound system from my work, but the problem is that it has a 2 pin euro plug,
a friend told me that i can just cut the plug and place the right wires etc into a normal 3 pin uk plug. i was worrying about whether on not the fuses will be right etc.

I know how to wire a plug btw :p but i just wanted to make sure im not going to blow myself up.

you can do that assuming ratings are OK (230V, 50Hz). Even easier is to buy a clip on adaptor where you lift the lid up, insert your euro plug and away you go. I think they're even fused which is safer. Daz

Go for it. Just connect the brown to the fuse side of the 13a plug and the blue to the N. If there is an earth core in the cable then connect it to the earth pin. There are a lot ot items which seem to be supplied with a 2 core cable and if this is the case it will comply with regs so just the two connections are satisfactory. Just make sure the system is euro and not US. ie. 230v and not 110.
