Has anyone come across work, good or bad, carried out by 'migrant' sparks from the EU ?

Look forward to it. I've got to re-wire a re-wire that was done a few weeks ago by some EU guys who seem to think that the earth was an optional extra and that's just one thing.

lol!! its a house thats bein turned into 8 appts. so they're just gonna be liftin floor boards chasin etc. no connections

aye, they work hard, but communication can be a pain. Although I dont find many foreign sparkys, think its hard for them to study, I think its bleeding hard to understand that phone directory, i mean 7671 regs. hehe

Mate of mine who is a plater worked with a couple of Poles installing pipework high up in a glass factory, told me they started to shout at each other xext thing he knew they had pulled knifes out and where trying to stab each other?:eek::eek:

Not a pretty thought when you a couple hundred feet up in the air:(

Watch your back

Generally hard workers in my opinion. I'm sure you get others who f**k around but the same can be said anywhere, regardless of nationality.

My cousin moved into a flat that had been converted by some Polish builders. What a joke, the doors were too narrow the lounge floor would bounce whenever you walked across it, and having lived there for more than a year now has never received a utility bill!!!

Hi All,
The place that I've had to do was a refit. The sparkies however turned a ring main into a radial and left the other end of thr ing bare in the loft.
No sockets were earthed at all, lights were taken from the power circuit (no earth here either) everything wired in 3 core except they only used 2. All connections were with connector block and tape and in some cases they had wrapped pipe lagging around the connections. They had wired a cooker switch only on the live side and joined old cooker cable to new with tape then packed out the old cooker panel with polystyrene !! and wired a 6.5kW hob into a plug top. Sockets were wired L-N reversed and so on.
Picture evidence was taken and has been reported to various authorities so hopefully the firm will get prosecuted.

Appreciate all the feedback from you guys.

Best regards,
Lofty.
