I have no electrical experience, no wiring, no testing etc (I only learnt what colour which wire was what 2 weeks ago) Anyways, Ive passed Part P and 17th edition after being put on a two week course due to unemployment. Question is, What are my best bets now to get some `hands on `experience? Night school? apprenticeship? etc

I don't blame you atall for taking these courses if they were offered to you for free.

And, if you have no electrical experience, like you say, then bloody well done on passing them!

Your success in these 2 courses will show any prospective employer that you are serious about getting into this type of work (they don't need to know the courses were for free).

Next step is to get your local phone book and start ringing around.

PS.....go see what other course you can get for free whilst your in a position to do so...Portable Appliance Testing, PV installation, First aid, Health and safety courses, CSCS. (If you don't ask and hassle you don't get).

Not at all.
Unless he registers with a scheme provider he's in the same boat as you.

And on Full scope? I think that you have some quals to be full scope. I dunno. they keep changing the goalposts every 5 mins!

If alarm man was to try and register btw I'm sure he'd be accepted as long as he updated to 17th within a year.
It's all about proving competence and he can do that easy enough.

Not sure but I doubt it.
I *think* the only definitive legal requirement is that any electrical work isn't left in a worse condition than when that work started.
If a spark who knew what he was doing, and could prove that, undertook any notifiable work correctly there's nowt a court of law could do.

He cant do Full scope work with Part Pee.
Part Pee on its own he can do minor works, Work only.
You cant put a new circuit in or change 1(he can add a spur and thats about it)
You cant really do alot unless your full scope and you cant be full scope without 2330 level 2(min) 17th Part Pee.
