The way most social housing rewires are conducted, i'd not lower my standards to that level if it was £400/day.

From the installs I have seen, I think the installation method is as follows:

  • Run into the house with armfuls of cable and trunking and dump it in a pile in the living room.
  • Squirt no nails over the pile.
  • Pick up enough from the pile for each room, proceed into each room, spin around fast whilst releasing the stuff from your arms.
  • Squirt no nails on the back of the CU and drop kick it under the stairs.
  • Flick breakers on at arms length with face turned, eyes closed and teeth gritted
  • If over 60% of the circuits hold, onto the next house as the QS will test it next week if he remembers.

I am in no way saying that these are the methods employed by the OP by the way

depends on the hours. if it's an 8 hour day, it works out at over £15 an hour.

what ARE the hours?

if it's paye with a van and power tools thrown in, it's about fair. for self-employed with own van, insurances, tools that will probably getr nicked, it's less than 1990 rates.
