[ElectriciansForums.net] Extend ring and add a spurI want to make some changes in our utility room. At the moment I have one double socket. Would it be possible to have the modifications made as in the attached schematic? I want to save a bit of cash, so I will install the boxes, trunking etc. and get someone to wire it up for me.

Is this possible? Do I need to make provision for anything else, circuit protection etc.?

I was only instructed that this needed doing this morning, so I might not have thought it through properly! Please feel free to tell me where I've gone wrong!

the picture works ok here.

It looks like: 2 original cables and 3 new cables enter the box, one original is crimped to a new cable. 2 new cables go off to your extended bits. 1 new cable goes to FCU/spur. 2 new and one original cable are connect into the socket.
though you may want to rcd/rcbo the circuit or label the sockets

seems ok in principle. hope your backbox is deep! :D
