Hi all,

Whats your preferred and neatest way of extending cables to a CU which needs moving. Suppliers are coming in soon to move supply cable and meter ect.

Cheers.

nice quality enclosure, din rail with wago din connectors.

ive used it in FG Wilson generator control panels, and i wasnt impressed to be honest. It was reall fiddly gettingthe cables in, and you had to get your screwdriver in at an angle, which wasnt possible with the layout that was in the panel. Ialso had 2 break on me. Im sure that some manufacturers make decent push fit gear, but not the ones i used ( i dont remember the manufacturer)

Nice HandySparks!

Not worked with the Dinrail pushfit stuff, what's happening there between terminals marked 4 and 7?

This was a job I put up on "Show us your installs" post #298. The terminals between 4 and 7 will terminate four cables rather than the usual two. It was a 20A socket radial and I decided it would be tidier to spur off in the box rather than use an existing old junction box. Similarly, terminals 7 and 8 are 6A lighting and use three way terminals (just about visible).

I feel bad, I use wago cage clamp connectors and does not look anywhere near as tidy as that handysparks. not for the first time my mantra must be - "must try harder" ! I'll try the din rail connectors next time I think...

Yes, I think it's one of those things that takes a bit of practise before you really get the hang of a particular type of terminal. At first they're not as quick and easy as the manufacturers would like you to think.
