Can anyone recommend external condut/trunking to take four 2.5 cables , one 1.5 cable and one earth wire. Its a straight run up the wall into the roof space with at least one elbow/right angle at the bottom where it goes into a cupard.

Thanks

Personally I think cables up an exterior wall look terrible but if there was no other option I'd use black 32mm conduit like Wirepuller suggested. If not that then using the wider metal sheathing would look loads better in my opinion than using plastic MT4.

If someone was crazy enough to use plastic waste pipe on an external wall (because it would look cack) then they should at least put a electrical flash sticker there the pipe goes into the house and maybe one every 2 meters along route of the pipe. You cant complain about electrical warning stickers looking "Unsightly" when you are using plastic waste pipe or routing cable...

"Hello Spoon",

Thanks for your reply.

Because I posted the question purely to get an Answer / Opinions on whether Plastic Waste Pipe would be allowed to be used as a Conduit for running Externally / Internally I don`t want You or other Members to get the wrong impression on what I wrote in My posts.

I was suggesting that people who would be `Cavalier` enough to use Plastic Waste Pipe for running Electrical Cables would NOT want to put on Identity Tape - as THEY would consider it `unsightly` for their Customer.

Although I am NOT an Electrician [I am a Heating Engineer] I was expecting that the whole idea of this would be Ridiculed by the Members on here.

My comments about the chance of someone mistaking the Electrical `Conduit` [Waste Pipe] for a Plumbing Waste Pipe and cutting into it - possibly Killing themselves - means that I personally would tell anyone who asked that this is `NOT Permissible` - and I would use that example as the reason.

Thanks for your reply - I hope that this clarifies My position about this `Hypothetical situation`.

I think a clearly worded question would have probably yielded a better answer. Daz.

"Hello DPG / Daz",

Were You directing your comment at Me - ?

Just in case - what could be clearer than this:

QUOTE FROM MY ORIGINAL POST:

Just as a matter of interest regarding this Topic - would it be permissable to use Solvent Welded Plastic Plumbing Waste Pipe for External [or Internal] Cable runs.

END OF QUOTE

I then went on to comment further about this in My Post - But I feel that the Question could NOT be any clearer - ?

I posted futher messages in reply to comments from other Members.

Could You explain what You meant Please Daz.

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,

I didn't mean my post to come across negative I was just explaining my view. Personally I would only use waste pipe if I was going to have a supply from the house to a garage that was going under the ground. Put a couple of draw strings in for any future cables (just in case I wanted to install an alarm contact or camera or turn part of the garage into a study and have a comp linked into the house or turn it into a **** studio and need extra amperage for all the lights and cameras)

"Hello Spoon",

Thanks for your message.

I did not take anything in your previous post to be Negative and I hope that My reply did not come across to You as in any way Negative.

I was just explaining what I meant about anyone who would use Plumbing Waste Pipe for an Electrical `Conduit` on an External or Internal surface would be very unlikely to want to apply `Identity Tape` for `Safety purposes`.

Regards,

Chris
