If the only option is to take a shower cable up the outside wall what would be your preference?

New carpet in room above etc no other rout the customer will allow...

Cheers in advance.

You drill the hole then knock a small channel into the brick work where the cable is going to lie makes a curve for the SWA bend naturally round and into the house. Then one cleat near the hole and tighten up should bring it in near enough flush, though always seal the the hole before screwing back or your never get any sealant between the cable and the wall.

Nice point about the channel, I guess you still angle the drill slightly though to allow for stopping water penetration in the event of the seal failing.

so how would you do it with swa? would it be t&e inside to adaptable box on outside wall then swa outside changing to t&e agan when enters house upstairs??

cheeers
take the swa stright into roof space, terminate into adaptable box above ceiling pull for shower then take inner of swa cable through stuffing gland out of adaptable box straight into ceiling pull, no need for any t/e on this job ;)

Is it just me or is does all this talk of swa, adaptable boxes, glands and struggling to bend the cable neat to get it in through the wall not sound like a lot of unnessasary hassel. High tough will look neater with less hassel.

lol, no, it was in Quedgeley. I felt bad doing it, tried to convince him to run it internally but he wasnt having it (his neighbour had done the same thing). He still owes me 25 quid for the cable:mad:
