Hi.. Yes safe isolation as always !
I assume they just put 3c and earth there and left it until the fittings arrived then realised they did nit need a core..
So is that still safe?
No qualifications listed on profile, but says he will carry out safe isolation, I wonder. You say you will perform safe isolation, then say you are to assume certain things. This is contradictory.

How do you intend to carry out safe isolation? do you have the appropriate test equipment to do so?I assume as I was not the electrician ?

My point was that assumption has no part in safe isolation.
Perhaps if you had mentioned you were training and had just completed your level 2 instead of just putting "none" as your qualifications you would have had a more responsive reply, I personally don't believe in giving DIYers tech advice, and when you said safe isolation of course, judging from your profile it looked to all intents that you thought safe isolation was just switching the circuit Off. I wondered if you knew what you were about to attempt.Sorry wonder what ?
I thought this was the DIY forum and posts where supposed to be helpful? I am not a fully qualified spark, but work in the industry, and have just completed my level 2.. I know how to safely isolate a circuit to be able to work on it.
I agree Tel, with a but see post 26as OP has completed level 2, this is the sort of small job that is beneficial to his progress. think useful advice is preferable to negativity.
